I agree, get a heavy duty flasher from a parts store.

If none are listed for a Neon find one with the same number of pins and configuration.

Okay, read up more on my problem in my factory service manual. It sounds as though I will have to replace the whole switch. At least thats what it says in there. Should any part of the multifunction switch fail, the entire switch needs to be replaced. [:@]

ur best bet is getting a switch at a junk yard to test if it works. or try ebay.
then u can either keep that switch or buy a new one at a dealer. but don't do dealer first cuz u can spend all that money and it not be the problem and then don't take returns. so see if u can get one cheap at a JY. or see if there is a way to test the switch.

Dude,

Before you waste time and money replacing switch try a flasher first. I doubt your switch is bad.

If you have a manual and a Volt/Ohm meter it will show you how to test the switch so you can be sure it's bad.

test first, buy second.

Still say get a heavy duty flasher before you start blaming the switch.

Check for relays too. Not sure if Neon has one but a lot of cars also have relay for you flasher as well. Just switch with another one(almost all relays are a standard part) to check. Also visual for corrosion. If you got a multimeter check for continuity on fuses as well and that you have power to 2 poles of you relay.

In response to the Multifunction switch, I have an 02 Neon ES and the High Beam lever stopped engaging the high beams. In other words, when you pull back on the blinker to engage the high beams, they only flash and then release. I was wondering that if the High beams will not stay on, does this mean I have to replace the Multifunction Switch? Thanks for your time in reading and hopefully answering this post.
