Here is a useful post for you since none of my other ones are: use the search button. It's been asked and answered before. The answer lies behind your laziness.

Cylinder Head is aluminum. Block is cast iron.

98 & 00 SOHC heads are interchangable, but the 2.0l DOHC heads are not as the 2.0l DOHC ended in 1999.

right on! thanx for you help. i went to the junk yard and found a new head for 75 dollars, now the fun part of cleaning this bastard. lol. oh and by the way to everyone, if your timing belt slips, go ahead and remove the head and check the valves. it will save you alot of trouble, because ive taken this car apart 3 times now, and some of these people in this forum are idiots (hint darth). he seems to have his mark on every single post, but has no clue what hes talking about, and likes to make others look like a dumb *** because hes an idiot.

LOL, I usually don't bother with it, but since I seen to annoy you so much for no reason, I'll play. I'm curious how I am dumb (or trying to make you look stupider than I) because you couldn't click "search" and type in two words; or how every post I type is completely "clueless" as to what is being asked? It sounds like someone has too much time on their hands sitting in mommy's basement to read through almost 1,000 of someone's posts. Judging by the way you type, it must have something to do with what I have said about grammar. The unfortunate thing is, that is one of the few things that you can judge someone's intelligence by, especially on a place like this, where the only communication is through typing. Anyone want to know why the world is going to hell? Look at the genius (I must put you down to try and make myself feel better about being me because I am such an idiot) who posted above me. As for the valves possibly getting bent when your timing belt slips, it is a fairly well known thing when it comes to these cars. That has been said in many posts as well, but I must just be making that up too to try and seem much smarter than I really am. I was also unaware that on a forum where new people such as yourself cry out "what kind of a place is this" when they don't get an answer for their question in 2.5 seconds after they ask it, that someone who still actually visits this section on this site isn't supposed to answer.

Your very serious and sudden infatuation with me is a bit concerning, but hey, everyone loves me, even your mother. Let your mommy know it's time for a diaper change. Take your fail with you as well.

94 & 05 SOHC neon heads are interchangable, and the dohc heads will bolt on to a 2.0L block. The 2001+ dohc heads have some modifications, but have the same bolt pattern.

The reason i say you are partially correct is the cam magnets changed in '03. So unless you have complete heads from the years you want to swap it may take a trip to the dealer.

'03-'05 use the new cam magnet and 95-02 use another. Also the PCV location is different in 1995 then in the other model years.

Well, i guess he got more than he asked for the the SOHC lesson. lol

I also am not sure what you mean by 2001 DOHC... yes they make them but, again, his question is not about heads on cloud cars or even swapping one for that matter. How far into it should we go, we could talk about mitsu 420A heads for the turbo guys that want the turbo up front. Just re-wire the firing order and your good, but this is a whole other thread.
