2002 sxt very bad engine or trans vibration
fill the voids in the new mount with some butyl rubber. once dry they perform alot better than the original with all the holes. If you want a real frim mount cut wedges from an old hockey puck and butyl them into the voids.
That's a neat idea, hemi4spd. Where does one get their hands on butyl rubber?
Well my sxt just needed new mount inserts seeing the old ones were worn out. At least for now my sxt doesnt need the motor mounts not broke as of yet. That is a cool idea hemi if I ever replace mine I will do that .
Butyl sealant is available at most of the bigbox hardware stores, Polyurethane in the tube worrks just as good, (yhey'll both be close to the paint department where alll the caulkings and glues are) U'll need a caulking gun
I found buy putting 200mph tape across one side of the mount, and filling it from the other it kept the stuff in place while it dried.
I believe it helped alot with the mad wheel hop my 2nd gen Neon suffered from. havent shreded another insert since this "upgrade"
This works on the upper mount too!
Cant actually take credit for this one, this lowbuck trick is something i read in a mopar action mag long time ago (so thanks to E-Booger).
damn the factory for worrying so much about NVH on the 2nd gennies in turn giving us sloppy mounts!
I didnt know you could just replace the insert, when I ordered mine I thought "what a waste" when I got a big chunky piece of aluminum to change.

Well changed the top and lower and the tranny one is ok the middle one is what my problem is now and just trying to find one cheaper than 150bucks and seems like every junk yard we go to there are no neons other than 1st gen neons. Husband got to the middle one with no problem just want to find one cheaper.
Husband found brand new at a junk yard from a 05 neon the middle and tranny mounts both for 70bucks together so friday will be putting them on husband found out its pretty easy seeing he got them off at the junk yard.
