Alternator Belt
Hi Neon fans, been a long time since I've been here. My 2001 Neon (which my son now drives) needs an alternator belt. How do you install a belt from underneath, thru the front wheel or both. I've searched here but could not find anything for a 2nd gen. neon. Can anyone give my a hand with this.

Jack up the passenger side and support with a jack stand. Remove the wheel and the plastic access panel, two bolts at the top and two plastic retainers near the front. From the top remove the power steering-A/C belt by releasing the spring tensioner with a 17mm open end wrench. Now loosen the lower alternator pivot bolts and then loosen the upper alternator lock nut. Turn the belt tension adjustment bolt until the belt can be removed.
