Default speedometer?

Anyone know what would make your speedometer gauge bounce around? I can still drive the car fine but the speedometer gauge bounces around....let me know if you know what it might be...thanks

The whole cluster or just the needles?

does it look like this:

if so, you will need to dismantle the cluster and replace the motor for the speedometer needle.

My speedometer skipped around different then the video posted above me. I'm not really sure what the problem was, but I made the dealer fix it when the car was under warranty. They ended up just replacing the entire cluster with a new one. Since it has been replaced I haven't had any problems.

That is what gauges do when the battery is on it's way out. If it is "bobbing" while you are driving, it could be the speedo cable or gear.

mine did that, ended up being the whole cluster. it took the dealer a month to figure it out, and $500 bucks later. The needle also would like to stick around 70mph sometimes.
