Default Anyone know how to smoke tail lights like this

Any idea how to smoke the tail lights with the clear part still visible? I have a pair of smoked tail light covers, but Im thinking maybe you need the spray for this? BEcause I was thinking of smoking the tail lights to look like that and to put in a clear third brake light in as well, heres another link to the image if you cannot view it above

Um, I used light, even coats? Not sure how to explain it. If you are not sure how to paint a surface evenly, you may want to have someone else do it. Bodyshops can use tinted clear, but it will cost more.

I just did mine yesterday, they look pretty good. i have some after market ones coming in the mail so, i just decided to be cheap and used black gloss spray paint(2coats) and 1 coat of clear coat. i just use masking tape to cover the reverse lenses. Ill put some pics up later

Heres a picture, the red you see in the right one is just a reflection. i might do another coat black so its a bit darker but im happy with the result and it only cost like 6 buck for the paint
