I have a Gen 2 neon (2000) that has some ticking valves and an oil leak. I've driven the car for about 2 years in this condition and just never got around to overhauling the upper end and tracking down my oil leak. (I usually drive the company car anyway

This neon is my 3rd (because I like 'em, not because I go through 'em quick) and I have a first gen (1996) with some body damage sitting around with nothing better to do.

How feasible is it that I could rebuild the Gen 1 engine and transplant it into my Gen 2 car? I know the engines are very similar but probably use different sensors and computers, right? How hard of a transplant would this be?

 

if the motor is soch it is direct swap just use the 2gn accessories intake but the block and the head should be exactly the same for you 1995 too 2000 are basically the same .sensor are the same too
