Default Help with My Neon No Start

Hello i have a 2002 Chystler neon LE. I took a Engine and Transmission out of a 2003 Dodge Neon. I drop the Engine and Tranny in get everything back together i use the wireharness from Chystler neon and most of them all lined up i had to change a couple plugs from the other wireharness to get certain ones to plug in the wires where the same just no the connectors. But i got that good all every plug good nothings not pluged in. It wont start i check the spark plugs for spark and find that only 2-3 are fireing not 1-4 so i change the wires nothing i get another coilpack and its the same thing 1-4 not getting spark 2-3 getting spark. Is there something i did wrong or can check?

Default Time for some research

To answer your last question, yes you did something wrong. I have to give you credit for taking on such an ambitious project, but the one thing you failed to do was to check compatibility before you began. Manufacturers change configurations from year to year and even sometime midyear. There is not telling what type of problems you induced by changing electrical connectors. Even if you do get the engine running, that may be only the beginning of your problems.

So, where to go from here: First you will need to go visit your nearest Chrysler dealer and get the schematics (hope you can read them) from the 02 year and the 03 year. You will need your VIN number of your car and the VIN of the vehicle that donated the engine/transmission. Once you get your hands on the schematics. You will have to pour over them to find out what is different. I know this is a pain, but it is what it is. Focus on the connectors you changed & make sure you didn’t cross any wires.

Your other option is to take it to a dealer, but I imagine if you are doing this project, you don't have the $$$ to pay the dealer for the countless hours it is going to take them to find the problem. They'll have to do the same research I just mentioned.

Default Maybe

Changing a wiring harness can be a very big job, but it looks like you don't have many options at this point.

Ok so i called the dealership and they said that there is different computers for the two years and models of the car they said that the engine harness would just plug into the computer and it should fire up and that i wont have to change everything they said i could use the same engine wires but they arent that hard to change them so im just going to get a new one thats not cut does that sound about right?
