How can you test the CV joints to tell if they are good.

Default How can you test the CV joints to tell if they are good.

I remember reading a TSB about this but I forgot how to check them. I think they are where my clunk clunk noise is coming from.

Also check the front wheel bearing/hub assembly. I have had a bad bearing that fooled me as a bad CV joint.

The bearings are good, I've checked them all ready.

Here is just a stupid little thing you can do to help u check them.

Put your foot on the brake and put your car in neutral. Then put it in drive with your foot on the brake still. and then put it in reverse. And go back and forth a few times between the gears. If it takes a second to catch or theres play you will notice it then

A quick and easy check. At a very slow speed, turn wheels all the way to the left and listen for a clunking sound. Then turn them to the right and listen again. If you hear any clunking, they're bad.
