I raced a LS1 Trans Am for ****s and giggles awhile back.. Little did we know, there was a cop in the parking lot watching us rev and whatnot. We go, I get my **** rocked like im standing still, he gets pulled over. Ticketed for racing and speeding. I say we were both stupid..
Your story sir, on the BMW's part was dumber. I would assume most anyone would play along with a BMW

Yeah the streets are for cruising around and showing off your ride not for racing like the track.

Those are 1/4 mile times are only ~0.7 seconds slower than the 6.1L V8 SRT-8 Challenger that costs MUCH more ($42,000 vs. $22,000), from a 3.7L V6. So, heavy and slow? Not by any means really.
i always thought the new stangs weighed in at around 3,900 (i may be wrong, wont be the first and wont be the last, lol) but i work at a gm dealership and i know for sure the new camaro 's are slow to me, even being the ss version i am just not impressed with it for the price tag.... i knew the cars were in the 14s, and yeah it is not to bad.... but something about a 6 cylinder mustang i just dont like.... just me, but something about being a v6 mustang takes all the fun out of it....

Not the 2011 the v6 stangs are way better for performance and gas . I test drove one again today and Im in love with the new stangs I would get the v8 but the v6s are just as nice and cheaper in price and better in gas mileage and 305hp is way enough speed for me.

Yeah the gts have over 400hp thats way to much for me and I probably would kill myself in anything more and the v6s now have a very nice dual exhaust but I would get a borla later on anyways.

The heaviest version of the new Mustang is the GT Convertible Automatic at 3,770 pounds. The manual Coupe GT is 3,605. The GT500, which I'm not comparing to the other cars, is 3,820 pounds, but it also has a 5.4L in it. The 5.0 roasted a 6.2L, is it, Camaro SS in the 1/4 mile several times. The new 5.0's are in the high 12's, I believe, even with a 3.31 gear ratio. Put some D/Rs on there and some 4.10 gears...wow. Camaro/GM lovers' argument is now, "wait until 2016 (or whatever it is) for the new engine."

v6s still wont give me issues in either car my civic(not stock) or tegra(mostly stock) btw that tegra was a pain in the *** to find only 2,200 built in two years... finally they put some power behind the v8s again..i could eat most new gts only 315hp vs the new v6 now they have pushing 305hp...im just saying for the price a mustang wouldnt be the way to go...
