Default engine lacking power on takeoff

hey everyone, so one day i decided to pressure wash under my hood to keep it clean, ever since that day ... my car occasionally stumbles trying to get going like it is choking out...

i am thinking :
-my alternator is fried, and the engine isn getting enough amps to run correctly
(ps i have a big stereo too...)
-or my egr is malfunctioning and needs to be replaced...

or both!?

i have a new fuel filter, spark plugs, air filter, and plug wires, and problem persists..

does anyone have a suggestion?
and also has anyone put a bigger alternator on a neon? im thinking a big one!

thanks everyone

If the alternator is fried your battery would be dead constantly.

Is the check engine light on? If so turn the ignition on, off, on, off, and back on within 5 seconds. Where the odometer is at it will flash the codes.. most likely starting with a P.

Coil pack? You can get an HO alternator, but they are pricey as can be. If an emissions system like the EGR was malfunctioning/not working, you would have a nice, bright yellow check engine light on. Check for codes.
