Default Wiring problem..

I connected my backlight wire(white) to one of the three white/violet wires under the dash which are supposedly for the dimmer switch but it didn't seem to work when I switch the lights on.. I'll double check tonight... Is there something I'm missing???

^^^ that.

But also check the plugs going to the multi-function switch, they melt. I had the same issue, gave up and a few days later lost all my dash lights, then my lo-beams, pulled the MFS to replace it and the plug was melted..... can't find a replacement ether.

You're pretty much only going to find a replacement from a parts car or junkyard. Dealers are still, AFAIK, on national backorder. Not to mention, they are very not cheap from the dealer.

so I went through 6 wrecked neon's and every single one had a melted MFS plug! I used the least meted of them and all my problems went away.

The Chrysler part numbers:
05183442AA - wiring harness repair kit (about $40)
05073045AB - Multifunction switch (auto zone sells them with the fog light foe about $60

If you have factory fogs I would put them on an aftermarket switch as this seems to be the root cause. I just used the wire from the multi to the lights and I still get the little light on my dash telling me they are on.

Search the other sites and the srt sites and there is lots of info on it.
