Update: Im having my dash and lights in side flickering and once my high beams are on same problem. Also If I turn all my lights in the car or my high beams the car just dies. Is that a battery problem?
Could be the alternator or alternator belt or battery you can go to autozone and have the battery checked and get that out of the way and go from there.
Melted?
that's interesting.. What all did you have to do in order to take it out?
Cause it seems I need to replace mine soon.
Last night I cleaned the harness plug(the bottom of the plug was melted a bit, but it still has the metal connections) and the MFS unit and put them back together and viola! my headlights work again. I believe it's from using different wattage bulbs in either your headlights or fogs. Either way, I'm installing standard blubs from now on.
The problem is you are using a bulb that is rated at twice the legal wattage. Low beams are 55W. High beams are 65W. 100W is off-road use only because it WILL blind oncoming traffic. You also need a dual filament bulb as the one bulb produces both the low and high beams. Go to the store, buy proper bulbs, and try it.
Never use 100w bulbs in a Neon. I use Sylvania golds.
You don't use 60w bulbs in a lamp if it only says 40w, right? It's the same for a car's headlights.
All I know is using that high of a wattage bulb, you run the risk of catching the factory wiring on fire and/or melting it, heck, possibly even melting the housing. The factory wiring is not made for that kind of bulb.
