Just found out none of us 2nd gen neons except for the srt4 have a dohc we all have sohc but can easily make our sohc a dohc but swapping for a srt4 one.

 

well, I'll tell you that a VIN engine code "C" is an SOHC engine.

I was really hoping that someone would have spelled that out for the guy

 

I have no c on my vin . Also if you had an dohc which none of us do should say on your door sticker if you got yours brand new.

No he has a 2004 se and I have a 2004 sxt . No where do I see a 2000 anywhere in opening thread. doesnt matter what yr a 2000 is still a 2nd gen neon so all 2nd gens are sohc and srt4s are dohc. 1st gens 95-99 are the dohcs.

 

my bad, C still is a 2.0 sohc the F code is for the Magnum sohc 2.0.

you guys do kno that technically startin in 03...our cars are considered 3rd gen?? bcuz of the front end....am i right on this or no??

 

No, that's called a different bumper cover.

 

00-05 all are called 2nd gen just somewhat different parts.
