How is the motor mount (not the upper and lower torque struts, though they could be bad too)? If those are bad, the car will make all sorts of weird noises.

it could be shocks just because that same thing happened to me and i changed them like 4 years ago and that fixed the problem and i recommend you put some after market shocks do not use the stock shocks and struts they sell and autozone or just from ebay. and about the power steering pump that is not the problem and my reason is because if your power steering pump is going bad you will hear that grinding and loud noise all the time not only when you turn to the left or go straight. Hope i helped you out if you have any questions let me know

Cheers mate

sorry to mention.. i did change the struts thanks for the suggestion i taught about that too.i have tokico blues and srt 4 oem struts and i swapped them around..still the same problem..only thing now i can think is what DARTHROUSH mention motor mounts or torque struts and maybe the tie rod..after iam done with the left side of this car it will cost more than the car itself..lol..cant wait to spend more money on my wifes car..she loves her little neon ..now she wants a upgrade her music system..where will it end..

My motor mount was bad. My car vibrated, buzzed, rattled, made noises and more. It was like driving a new car once it was replaced. I actually smiled the whole drive home and the quietness, besides the exhaust, lol. That's why I ask.

don't forget about transmission differential bearings.

I had a neon that hummed swore it was the l.f. well new bearing and problem still there, so I took the old LF bearing put it on the RF and problem was gone.
