Clutch problem!!
We went to a friends house tonight for dinner. On the way there I felt something pop in the clutch when I was getting on the interstate. When we got off I could not shift anymore.
I can push the clutch all the way in but it feels as if it is a dead pedal, no force to push it in or let it out. The only way I can put it in first is if I turn off the car, put it in first then start the car and it wants to roll as I am starting, and that is with the clutch pedal pushed all the way in.
I am wondering what it could be? Clutch cable, Clutch Master Cylinder, Linkage cable, or it needs to be adjusted?
I have a 2004 Dodge Neon SXT 2.0 SOHC, 5 spd M/T
Any help would be a great start to help self diagnose this problem before taking it in to the tranny shop!
I am very car savvy and rather fix something myself before having to pay hundreds, even thousands of dollars for something I could do for 75% less. This one has me stumped and I could really use the assistance

Oh and I can shift, but I have to be going at a certain speed and then lightly tap the gas to make it engage that gear. Baby'd the beast all the way back home without a clutch. Trying to use the clutch is worthless other than just starting the car up which I will not be doing until I can find out what is wrong.
Thanks again
Thanks again
it's obvious the clutch is not releasing. one of the most common problems I've had with similar situation as you are explaining is having a disc hub spring pop out and jamb in the pressure plate.
KISS diagnosis, check cable, look at arm to see if it's moving.
