Default trans issues

I have an 03 neon sxt automatic. had a sqwak noise from bell housing area and it was louder with inspection cover of flywheel off. narrowed it down to the torque convertor. replaced convertor this morning with one from autozone and after install have no gears and codes po700 which i know is general trans and po841. any help???? does it just need to computer reflashed? im a ford tech so i know how to do the job and actually removed and reinstalled to make sure everything was right but still no gears and same codes. any help would be great. thanks

impressive, you pulled the trans and installed a new torque converter...that's like a 4hr job with a hoist.

I never heard of a squawk caused by a converter.

did you add like 4 qts trans fluid? are you sure you proper seated the converter when you put the new one in?

WTF does that have to do with anything? You fail, horribly, at being a sarcastic ***.

As for the P0841, it is generally caused by wiring/connector problems. Start going over all of the connectors, making sure the connections are clean and that they are well seated.

Other possible causes include:

  • If code P0944(35) is present, ignore code P0841(24) and perform code P0944(35) diagnostic procedures
  • LR pressure switch sense circuit, open or shorted to ground between PCM and solenoid pack
  • LR pressure switch sense circuit shorted to battery
  • Solenoid/Pressure Switch assembly
  • Valve body - solenoid switch valve stuck in LU position. May be accompanied by a code P1775(37)
  • Loose valve body bolts
  • Plugged filter - internal transmission or torque converter failure
  • PCM

that was a complement, it's a HUGE job to do a trans r&r and not many people would take that on. calling me a name for complementing someone shows you are the - - -

I'm sure it was a complement...
It's such a HUGE job, yet you commented that it's "like a 4hr job with a hoist," as if it were no big deal. Yes, he can R&R a transmission and a T/C, but wasn't able to check and see if he needed 4 qts. of fluid...
