dent removal!
epic fail........
so when i bought my car, the previous
owner told me that a kid kicked in his
door.. i guess i didn't look at it hard
enough to notice that this kid must have
had a funny shaped foot.....
my dad didn't say anything because he
figured i would learn by purchasing a $4.000
car only to slowly discover all the things wrong with it.
only after i bought the car, and on the trip home,
he decided to finally make comments like
"he said he replaced the battery, but the
cables had months of corrosion build up,
so obviously he hasn't touched the battery
in quite a while."
wow dad, ... thanks.
anyways, auto zone has one unhappy customer! :]
i just got home from auto zone today and
was more than excited to try out my new
dent removing kit. the videos i watched
on youtube made this kit seem real easy
to use, so i made sure to follow all directions
to get the same good results. well..
not only did my dents not do anything but
pop back in place, but now i have 5 spots
of dried up hot glue that are seriously stuck
to my car door.. i broke one of the pads, and
wasted my time and money attempting this
failed stunt.. hmm..
here are some picture attachments, one of the broken
pad, the other of my door.
not only did it not work, but now i get to go
to school tomorrow with spots of glue on my
door, which also just draws eyes to the dents.

now that i've cooled off a bit..
anyone here know of any ways to
1) GET HOT GLUE OFF YOUR CAR!
2) remove dents - methods that may actually work?

i ended up using a hair drier, which did most of the work, but i think it also just made some of the glue cling to my door even more.. i might as well replace the whole door.. the whole thing is bent and its got a chip of paint missing. it also squeaks really loud when it opens and closes. i tried WD-40, but that failed to fix the problem. I also just barely realized that my whole car is pretty well dented up. my poor car was left out during hail storm ):
