03 sxt auto trans wont shift please help
hey everyone lookin for some help here, im not a dodge man myself but i am a technician and just looking for a little diag before i throw money away on parts or TCM. im having problems with my girlfriends neon trans. its an 03 sxt, now the trans has been rebuilt about 15 months ago and now its giving us trouble. first started she said it didnt want to shift out of 2nd so she put it in park and then back in drive and it was ok after about two tries. and then on her way to my house, threw a CEL, codes reading:
PO731 Gear 1 ratio incorrect
PO700 trans control system (MIL request)
PO715 Turbine/input shaft speed sensor circuit *
(again) PO700 trans control system (MIL request)
not sure why it threw two trans control. if anyone can help me there thatd be great.
(i also saved teh freezeframe from these codes if anyone needs to know anything that can help)
-i cleared these codes and it was fine for about two days, shifted fine ran fine no slip no lights. yesterday she threw another CEL and said it would NOT shift out of 2nd. so i didnt have my scanner i cleared the code by pulling the battery terminals. as of right now i do not have another code out of it to use for diag, it did not fix it like i had hoped it would like the first time. (by the way i dont believe in self fixes but i was hoping for a temp) anyway, i just want to know what everyone thinks, im sure there is a thread here about this but i dont have time to search right now i figured forums is the way to go.
now i starred ( * ) the code i had my mind set on, being that if the sensor circuit is faulty, i think i would throw a trans control and possibly gear ratio incorrect. the trans was overhauled like i said aout 15 months ago it started slipping and threw a ****load of codes, it was done.
ANY educated input would be greatly appreciated i dont want to hear check the fluid or ur in the wrong gear. i am a technician, as previously stated, and just looking for a little help with diag. i have a feeling im dealing with an input shaft speed sensor, from the little research ive done ive had a few people with the same symptons.

Your TCM is integrated into the PCM. You'd have to replace that if that were the problem, and then, go through the whole reprogramming.
P0715 will cause limp-in mode, which will keep the transmission in 2nd gear.
Code P0731(51) - Excludes geartrain failures which should be obvious upon disassembly
> Speed sensor or associated wiring - may also set codes P0736(50), P0715(56), or P0720(57)
Check into the sensor and wiring first!

yea i havent had a chance to put a scanner back on it i know it probably has a code and just no MIL but yea well the first time we had the CEL i wiggled and pushed on a sensor that i could see from the top of the engine bay and had no other problems with the speed sensor and it was stuck in second before the CEL so it shouldnt have been limp in
and also now that i said that about the sensor, where is the input shaft speed sensoe cuz yea i have no idea what sensor i was touching i just know it was the only i could see that was an obvious sensor on the trans
if you have the ability to get data from the trans you'll likely find theres nothing being registerd at the input/output spped sensors.
bring the tranny guy a offee and he'll read the data for you in about 10 mins
