Well... I tried starting it again on Sunday. It started, but was missing horribly. My first thought was %*#@!!!, the timing has jumped and I just smashed my valves again. So, I tore down the engine to the timing belt and checked the timing and tensioner. No problems found. Threw it all back together, and it is still missing and spitting fuel like a mad man on meth (or something like that). My buddy agreed to come back out and run another diagnostic on it tonight.

This car is the biggest PITA I have ever worked on.

My friend with the good diagnostic has a son in the hospital, so he hasn't been around. I swapped out the coil pack and it runs better but still not right. Kinda sounds like a diesel and has no power. I borrowed a Mac tools diagnostic and the cam sensor is the only code. Guess I'll buy another cam sensor and give that a shot...

to be continued.

http://

at the top is the instructions for replacing the CMP dont under/over torque it (80 FtLbs)

also when you replace the sensor and the battery cables are off the battery clamp them together while you dio the repair, this will remove any codes stored and cause the computer to "relearn" when you do get it started again. will run rough till it does a full relearn, doesnt take long.
then see if you get any codes.

80 ft/lbs for a sensor? Are you sure it isn't in/lbs?

Are you serious? WTF??
Please do not threadjack with a bunch of useless crap I could look up in the FSM.

I'm looking for hands-on knowledge here... not copy and paste. What exactly were you trying to tell me? I feel as though I have entered some obscure Dodge Twilight Zone??

At the very least, resizing your HUGE images would be beneficial.

Thanks...???

First off I wouldnt consider myself "threadjacking" as I was even the first poster to reply to your OP.

Who knows if you have a FSM or not? If you did I would assume you wouldn't be plugging in wrong connectors.

First post your citing "knowledge", then last post "hands-on". this is difficult to do over the internet, we can only go on info you provide. and it is what it is.
are these the cheapest generic sensors? is it from a dealer? did you test wiring on the sensor? do you have a DVOM?

If your car was in my garage right now i can assure you it would be fixed.

What my Oversized instructions were for is sensor replacement
now while your there at the plug you can check it for voltage, ground. but you probably already know this. (next time ill resize) I might add though some with less than perfect eyesight appreciate the size, this is why iI did not shrink.

Sitting on this side of the fence seeing you replaced the sensor once and still having the code I would assume again you didnt have FSM and would appreciate these instructions. Perhaps you replaced it incorrectly?

Good Luck with this one

Follow that link to another Neon sight and see what really happened with my engine.

THERE HAS TO BE A NEON COMMUNITY OUT THERE??

Maybe I'm a Hater, but this may be the best thread published on this forum.
