Default Neon not getting a spark

i have a 00 neon and i just replaced the motor mount bracket and 2 transmission hoses. in the process of moving the motor up and down to get the mounting bracket off im thinking it may have damaged a wire possible ? i changed the distributor and checked the fuses. there is no spark coming out at all and before i did any work it never had any ignition problems.

I am curious how you changed the distributor on a car that doesn't have one? Start looking for damaged/dangling wires...

my bad, the ignition coil is what i switched out. cant find any bad wires so far and all the grounds are connected. could it be a bad crankshaft position sensor or any other sensor in the ignition system causing this? i really need to get my car back up and running :/ or is there any other way to find out why its not putting out a spark ?

check the cam and crank sensors, you may have disturbed them when doing the mount. Any CEL?

i checked both of them even tho im not sure what im looking for. the plugs look completely fine and the wires running to them are fine. how could i tell if either of these sensors just decided to fail after changing a mount bolt ? :/ keep in mind the cam pos sensor is in the worst spot to get to with all the hoses and wires in my way -.- and the crank sensor isnt much better with the axel and frame in the way. also baught a brand new coil pack and brand new battery(old battery went bad failing to start my car) and still didnt help. and what do you mean any CEL ?

CEL= Check Engine Light
check the sensors for ground, and voltage. You can do this with a cheap multimeter
ur looking for 8volts on the orange wires and the black/Lt Blue wire is the ground, the grey/black goes back to the computer
same wire colours for both sensors

am i checking the sensor itself or the wires running into it, sry never had to test a sensor before. would appreciate a nice description on how to do so =] i have a circuit tester(i think). also yeah the CEL is on but for 0743(torque converter circuit malfunction, been there since i got the car and after i swapped trannys and torque converter.) and 1684? which means battery been disconnected in last 50 starts.

buy a multimeter, you can get one for like 20-30 bucks, doesnt have to be made by FLUKE or anything.

a circuit tester will tell you there is or isnt juice but will not tell you how much juice is present.
with the key on you should see 8 volts on the orange wires, put your black lead of multimeter to ground and the red lead to the orange wire, check results.
if you have 8 volts there,
you can know the sensor is getting power.

Now switch your meter over to the setting for checking continuity and place a lead to the black wire at sensor and a good ground, should see continuity, telling you that the ground wire is in fact intact and connected.

thry those 2 tests and see whats what. your basically just checking the wiring to the sensors at the moment, electricity is a funny thing its there even though you cannot see it, this is why we need a meter to see it.

wires can visually look great but not flow or have any juice in them.

lets say im too poor to get one at the time, what are the odds of anything happening to either of these sensors while moving the motor 4-5 inches on one side ? the car had absolutely no problem starting before any of this.

It doesn't matter what the odds are; if it is the sensors, it's the sensors either way. They should be checked. Are you positive all grounds are hooked back up and have you tested the sensors yet?
