Belt squeal?
2000 5spd 101,000 miles
the belts or one of the pulley squeal when its cold outside, under 35 and only when the rpms drop below 1500. like when im coming to a stop sign or slowing around a bend. if its warm outside it wont do it. not only does it squeal, but it smells burnt. i can smell it in the car. its loud. i am thinking it might be the a/c locking up or maybee the alternator or the tensioner.
has anything like this happened to you guys?

Mine started squealing like hell a couple of years ago when it got cold out. I replaced the belts and it has been quiet since. Are the belts new(er) and tightened correctly? If it is smelling though, I would double check the bearings and pulleys of all the accessories too.
