2000 had a different set-up, IIRC, than the rest of the years, so 2000 only.

...and I'm sure they have switched more than just the transmission. If you get a 2000 transmission to put in a 2001+, you need all the parts off of the 2000. Makes sense the reverse would hold true. Yeah, you can use other years, but you'll be buying more parts and be doing a bit more work.

Yeah but if you cant get a 2000 tranny and theres other yrs around than thats your best thing to do when theres none around not many places have 00 trannys and you cant even get one from the dealership in most places. Just have to look around to see what you can find.

That's fine. It won't be a plug-n-play though.

Plus the new trannys are alot better than the 00s . alot stronger . Like my 04 sxt which is an auto has 190,000 on her now and the tranny is still like new.

I wouldn't put "Dodge Transmission" and "Strong" in the same sentence. '04 did happen to be the best year for everything.

Well we all have our ops. my auto 04 sxt has been awesome without any problems in the tranny department just mostly sensors going out and 3 motormounts but thats about it. Only replaced timing belt once and water pump and alternator so to me with 190,000 miles on mine shes been strong and reliable for a 04. I just heard alot of crap about the 2000s and 2003s neons.
