Default Winshield washer nozzle question

Does anyone know how to wire some light up windshield washer nozzles? Right now I have them wired into my fuse box into the headlights but when there are in one my p/s headlight doens't work. So now the nozzle aren't on so I can have my headlight back. Anyone know how to fix that?

I spliced them with the wires going to the headlight itself, since I did it on my own before learning about any other fancy ways of doing it.

I was just about to get on here & ask how to wire these things in myself & then I saw this thread. Wierd. I know basically how to do it & I know how to wire stuff, but I just wanna make sure before I do anything b/c I've never installed any of these. I just want to wire them to my parking lights, I don't wanna mess with switches or anything, so how would I splice the wires in? A short step-by-step instruction would be much appreciated. Sorry if I sound like a typical noob but no shops around here install these so I have to do it myself & I don't wanna screw up. Thanks...

Well, to start with, I wired them to my headlights so they'd only come on when I turned my headlights on, if I turn my brights on, my led washers go off and the same goes for if only my foglights are on the washers aren't. I removed the headlight housing from the car and stripped away some of the plastic/rubber covering the wiring with a razor very carefully (I've got a real gentle touch when I need to from years of guitar playing) and then i took the end of the washers wiring to it and wrapped it, then used electrical tape to cover it up real good. did the same thing with the ground wire. The only thing is that the headlights have 3 wires going into them, and I'm not sure but I think that the red wire going into the headlight is not equal to the red wire on the washer nozzles, I think i had black to black and red to purple. or something like that, can't say for certain, I had to try each one to figure this out, I've got a 2000 neon though so I don't know if this helps you much.

That is odd. just wire them to a separate switch and you should be fine.

Hmm well if your going to do it that way id suggest going to radio shack and getting wire connectors. You dont have to use the razor idea and worry about cutting threw the wire. Its a small red plastic thing with a metel piece threw it so when you put the wire's into it, it splices it with out cutting the wire. that should work. Or just run seperit wires to the battery with a fuse and a switch.
