Default Air Conditioning

I have a stock 2004 Dodge Neon SXT, and I drove it from my home in Chesapeake, VA to my fiancee's parents house in Fairfax, VA. About the time I got onto 295, I noticed that my A/C wasn't blowing anymore, but I could hear the blower working. It sounded blocked, though. I pulled off at a rest stop, and looked under the passenger dash. A block of ice was there. I looked under the hood, and all the pipes on the passenger side of the hood were coated in ice. My A/C froze up. The rest stop attendent told me it was normal due to the humidity. This seems very odd to me, as I live in an area that can get 100% humidity on a blue sky day, and I've never had that happen before.

Is it normal for the A/C to freeze up from time to time, as the rest stop policeman (they get to wear badges, now) said? Or should I take it to the dealer, as it's still under manufacturer warranty?

Default RE: Air Conditioning

The pipes should be coted w/a thin layer of frost,

But if the system stoped blowing cold air, something else is wrong.

Take is back to the dealer, It won't cost u a cent!!!!
