Default 2005 dodge neon sxt---please help!

I am having problems with my car idling high.Rpms go up to 5000.You can hear the engine revving real loud. When I try to brake the car jumps forward and is having trouble coming to a stop.I went to autozone and the code came up p2074.What does it mean and how can I fix it?

sounds to me like a bad vaccuum leak. read on another page that that code means a big vaccuum leak. check all the plastic hoses that run from the engine and airbox and whatnot for wear holes or even cracks. if thats all it is it will be a simple fix, hope this helps

Vacuum leak. Be sure to check the PCV line; that is the big one.

Check to make sure you reconnected all the vacuum hoses(specifically the one that connects directly to the intake manifold and valve cover since thats in the path of working on the starter) make sure none of them have any small holes or cracks in the connectors

Did you remove the intake manifold to replace the starter?
