Default Just a question

I have a 2004 Dodge neon SXT. My engine light is on and the code is telling me P0441. I also need engine mounts. And a new timing belt I think. I have almost to 120,000 miles on the car. And dont know what else needs to be fixed. So my question is... Should I get another car or fixed what I think is wrong? Which would be the cheaper thing to do?

To sum up your question, you are asking if you should perform maintenance on your current car, or get a different one? Engine mounts and the timing belt etc., are maintenance items. They need to be replaced every so often on every car. P0441 is most likely the NVLD pump. I've had that code for a couple of weeks now; it's just been too rainy to fix. Providing I am understanding the correct location of it, that will take about 10 minutes to change out with basic hand tools. If a few hundred dollars is too much, I suppose you should just spend the few thousand for another used car that will require the same type of work.

+1 darth those are wear items

the evap code wont affect the way the car runs (unless you a member of greenpeace dont worry bout it right now) just ignore the light and worry about it come emission test time.

do the mounts and the timing belt and you'll have way more money than buying a new car.

check the tubes from Carbon Canister to Purge solenoid, then from purge solenoid to throttle body very closely if they leak anywhere along there will set that code

whats a NVLD pump?

Natural Vacuum Leak Detection pump.

The Natural Vacuum Leak Detection (NVLD) system is the next generation evaporative leak detection system that will first be used on vehicles equipped with the Next Generation Controller (NGC). This new system replaces the leak detection pump as the method of evaporative system leak detection. This is to detect a leak equivalent to a 0.0209 (0.5 mm) hole. This system has the capability to detect holes of this size very dependably.

Yeah, all 2003-2005 (NGC) Neons have it. That replaced the LDP on the older models.
