Default Solve this puzzle?

Here's the deal...my 04 Neon SXT often hestitates, but once it takes off it does very well and has alot of power. Guess you could say it surges at a low speed. If I push the gas pedal, it will surge at times too. I've checked all vacuum lines, frayed wires, spark plugs, the spark plug wires, all fuses, any loose connections to the outer fuel tank, all seems to be normal. I do have a voltmeter gauge and it moves abit when idling at 13 plus...thats when it surges again. Could it be the actual fuel pump? Anyone had the same problem in the past with their ride? Let me know...thank you.

I think its just a normal thing for neons mine does that from time to time and my volt gauge goes from 13 to 14 sometimes but mostly says on 14.

Are you asking about voltage varying, or the performance of the car? The voltage will vary from time to time. It's not going to be 14.2V 100% of the time when the car is running.

The performance of the car is what I'm referring to, it bothers me when it surges...it never used to do that. I'm wondering if I should take a look in the interior wiring of the fuel pump. So far, no codes have come up yet. Been driving it like that for about a month now.

Two codes finally came up this morning. PO 129- Barometric pressure out of range and PO 303- cylinder #3 misfire. What do you think? Let me know again, thanks!

Misfire would most likely be plugs, wires or coil pack. Could be the fuel injector too. Switch the #2 and #3 wires and see if the misfire moves. If so, bad wires. Try the same with the plugs.

As for the P0129, I'd just try clearing it and see if it comes back.
