That is what I thought, even with a bad bearing, I still can't see how you can bend a valve.

1&4 fire at the same time, so if one valve got bent, the other would be ****ed as well.

Only#4 has a mis, and since that is the furthest away from the sump, I can see that one being starved first.

Looking at this picture, the rockers are roller, so I can't see a cam lobe wearing down in such a short amount of time.......

well, I'll know tonight.

I took off the valve cover again tonight and removed the rockers. They all look good, they are roller and look great, the cam is fine too. All of the valves look closed, no damaged springs, everything looks good on the top side.

I picked up a compression tool and simply pumped up the cylinders with air, 1 2 and 3 were fine, help 150 psi. #4 however would not hold any air, clearly a leak in that chamber. The air continously flowed out.

If I had to guess, sounded like the air was maybe going in to the intake which means a damaged valve on that side.

I'll pull the head tomorrow and see what the problem is for sure.

Valve could be burnt? If the engine was starved of oil I would think it would be a component that needs lubrication.

hmm sholdnt be lubrication on valve other than the stem(which is away from combustin chamber) if the valves were lubricated with oil the car would burn blue smoke all the time.

if you hear air going into intake then check those 2 intake valves
good news that your cams still in the game!

Nah, it's F'd!!!! I pulled the head, it looks ok to me, no valves stuck open or anything. Cleaned it up, don't see any cracks on cyl4. Cam and valves are fine.

Put a new gasket on and cyl 4 still worn't hold any air, the air is leaking up through the oil port on top of the head.

I'll send it out today to be pressure tested.

I just received word that the head passed all of the tests and is perfectly flat and solid!

Most people would be happy, but I am wondering what the **** is next!

I'll pressure test the cylinder tonight and pull the piston

If it's leaking out the oil port I would start with the rings or the piston itself.

Yes Sir, to the last 2 posters...... lucky #4 has a broken ring(s).

I did a pressure test on the cylinder and it passed as it pushed the piston down so I thought it was ok. I filled up 1&4 with some alcohol, #1 held it all, #4 drained out.

2&3 were also fine.

I order a set of rings today!

on and on we go.
