02 neon limp mode, need help

also after i get the new pcm i shouldnt have any starting issue are anything, correct.

this should be plug and play basically, no need for gettin programmed and all from dealership

If there is no sentry system (indicated by the gray key), it should be plug and play. Hopefully someone will confirm that, just to make sure.

I am not 100% positive on the older Neons. But when I got my Stage 1 PCM they needed the VIN number so they could flash that into the PCM.

Do you have a gray sentry key? If you have the transponder key, you have to have it programmed.

Oh, I was referring to the post above me. I'm still positive that without the security system, you don't need a VIN programmed in. That has always been my understanding.

ok well i just got a 00 neon pcm off ebay for 30. so that was a steal. hopefully this fixes the problem

I recieved the PCM today, just installed it. When i turn key to on, you can hear a loud whine coming from engine bay. The car started up ans reved high then shut off.

The code P0743 is now present. I know it torque converter circuit related. I dont know where this is at and i dont see anything in the haynes manuel either.

The solenoid plug is on the front of the transmission and has a dark green/white and orange/black wire.
