Could need an oil change thats what mine does when she needs one. I would use 5w30 I think anything higher is to heavy. I have to use high mileage oil seeing mine has 177,000 on her now. Also neons dont like cold weather and makes noises until warmed up.

yah i used penzoil platinum 10-w30 and it sounded great untill one night it got to -35 degrees outside and now its making that noise, i took about 20% of the oil out and replaced it with some lucas oil stabilizer, it quieted it down quite a bit, it was sunny outside yesterday, but now its snowing again, gota love colorado, and its supposed to be sunny tomorrow too, lol, but when i get a chance ill put some 5w-30 in

Yeah in the winter and cold 5w30 is the best for a neon seeing our little neons dont like cold weather.

as i can tell lol, but it spends most of its time in my garage, its heated too, when i do drive it its to work and back, its about a 5 mile round trip, but it will sit outside for about 5-7 hours at night. tonight we had alot of snow, this car was so fun in the parking lot doing e-brake slides! haha
