04 SXT Head Gasket/Valves
I am in the process of replacing the head gasket and or valves because I have a dead cylinder the instructions I found for doing the job state that after I am done I have to use a DRB scanner to perform the camshaft and crankshaft timing relearn procedure. My question is will the car run or is it even safe to start the car before I have this done or do I have to tow the car to a dealership? I looked up the scan tool to see if I could get one and the $2500 to $7000 price tag is a bit more than I want to spend.
Also if anyone has done this before any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.
