Expensive repairs - question
There are just some things I don't want to deal with, lol. That, and I don't have a DRBIII+, so some things I just can't do with this car. I try to do most of the work. I'll be replacing the solenoid pack and such on the transmission (just got here yesterday), and then I'll just be taking it in for the PCM flash and quick learn. I did a side job last year that allowed me to pay to have my timing belt job done which was fine by me. If I can avoid doing major jobs myself and not be financially burdened by it, I'm all for it. Now, dropping the transmission twice and taking apart the front suspension system completely three times...that was all me. What a pain...
last sunday, my cam sensor went bad, it was like choking when I was trying to accelerate too fast (more than 2k rpm).
They replaced the cam sensor and after that, it feels like the
car is downgrading weirdly sometimes..
My question, is it possible the transmission was affected by the cam sensor failure because of the car stumbling?
I took it back and the mechanic said it was driving fine.
they replaced spark plugs and wires because I was supposed to anyway and they did the computer update for free, yay..
I still notice gearing issue sometimes, like it's not as smooth to gear down.. but on the good news, the rough idle is fixed now.

Well something happened when that camsfat sensor failed.
After I replaced it, it really feel like I lost power, like i'm dragging something.
I noticed in neutral, if I push the pedal at 1200rpm and not move my foot, the rpm will not stay constant to 1200, and you can hear the engine is not running properly..
-could it be timingbelt teeths that were damaged when the camshaft sensor failed?
-the crankshaft sensor need to be replaced too?
-just need fuel injector to be cleaned up ?
since this issue happened right after my cam sensor failed, i'm thinking it's somehow linked to that..
what do you guys think it might be ?
thanks

Sounds like what mine did last yr I would replace the crankshaft sensor and see if that works and than the solenoid pack seeing they are fairly expensive when the cranks around the price of the cam sensor.
Just to clarify, there can be codes without the CEL being on. The CEL only comes on for emissions-related or severe mechanical problems.
