Default Engine Swap

I've been hearing alot the last couple months. Would it just be smarter to forget all the CAI and little stuff and just swap an srt-4 engine into my r/t? i know a kid who did it and he said it was well worth it compared to doing a lot of other things. He said in the end it could almost even save you money and produce more horsepower than all the aftermarket parts that i would have to buy for my r/t. Has anyone ever swapped an srt-4 engine into a 2.0? And if so how was it. Also can you keep the stock r/t transmission and do i have to get a new computer as well?

Yeah I would do the srt turbo swap instead of getting all the engine stuff seeing youll need everything srt . Im not sure if Im going that route yet i have all the stuff but might just sell what I have and stick with all my massive engine mods I have in now.

A turbo system would be easier and cheaper than an SRT engine swap. The time and cost of the SRT swap, unless you get a great deal on the parts which isn't likely (not impossible, just not likely), would be almost just as much as simply buying an SRT. Granted it won't be SRT4 power, but it will still be a dramatic improvement.

You can find a donor srt most of the time cheaper than the turbo kits out there. I found two acrs for a grand and the engine and seats and suspension were in perfect shape. You can find donor srts out there for a decent price if you look around.

Yeah, but the time involved may not be worth it even if the price is right. Everything has to be moved over.

There is a placen around where i live that has wrcked cars and they sell parts from them. I found a 2004 srt-4 engine with 32000 miles for 2100 and then i know someone who would do the labor for 600. It sounds like a steal to me

That isn't bad, but is that labor cost just for the engine? You need the computer and wiring harness as well. Maybe some other things too; there is a list somewhere on here.
