2000 Dodge neon just replaced the power steering pump read the threads on how to bleed the air from the line,,, lifted the front of the car rotated the wheel back an forth with the engine off heard the air bubbled out then turned the car on still lifted up , power steering pump cap on and then it just starts foaming all out the cap ,,, checked the lines no leaks or kinks dont know what to do any help appreciated
I just read the installation procedure, and there is nothing mentioned about bleeding the lines? Basically, you install the pump, reinstall the lines, fill it up and go. I've never done that on other cars that I've replaced the pump on either. Did you use ATF+4 fluid?
they put tranny fluid for power steering from the factory? that seems kinda... well, i won't say what i'm thinking.
excuse my ignorance i was just thinking with common sense lol
i just put regular power steering fluid in,, the stupid little owners manual says check dealer for correct fluid an i dont have a regular chiltons or anything .
It says coordinate inspections with a dealer if something is not right under the actual power steering fluid check section, but then under "Recommended Fluids, Lubricants and Genuine Parts" on page 201 (might be different in a different year manual), it says: "Power Steering Reservoir: Mopar ATF+4 Automatic Transmission Fluid"
