speedo question
is there any way possible to get the ugly green off of the numbers to where it is white? I saw it on a srt4 and it looked awesome. So yesterday i figured i would pull my speedo apart and see if there was a way to pull it off or scratch it off but there is absolutely no wasy to get the black cover(with all the warning symbols and numbers) off. The only way i can see for it to come off is to pull the needles off but is there a way to do that without breaking them?

Some neon owners might just replace the instrument lights with a different color bulb. Some use the wedge type bulbs and they light brighter than stock ones. It might be just a bright white that they are running in their panels. They come in 4,5, and even 6 led on one wedge light. E-bay is the cheapest to get from. Other than that, the green color can also be taken off, so only the white light will go through. You would have to disassemble your instrument panel to do so and might be too much elbow grease in the process. And if you don't mount your needles back the right way, they will not be as accurate as it was before. Needles can be taken off but you have to be careful in doing so. Pry 2 flat screwdrivers from opposite ends until the needle comes off. Good luck in either process.

If the gauges are white in that picture, why is teal reflecting off of the top? Anyways, you can change them to either green, light blue or dark blue with just a bulb change. If you don't want to risk breaking the cluster and really want it done, I know someone who does color changes to whatever color you want for like $80 or so? He does superb work and doesn't cut corners. He also has a Neon so he will put the needles back in the correct places. Let me know if you want his contact info.
so all of these will just plug right into the old light sockets? I know when i pulled my cluster apart the other day they were like a twist type thing with the bulb on the other side... or does the bulb just pull right from the socket? and exactly how many bulbs of each would i need before i order them lol i dont wanna pull everything apart again just to get a bulb count lol
I pretty sure on every year except the 2005s, the bulbs just come out. They glued/soldered them in or something like that on some 2005 Neons for some reason. Some manage to get the bulbs out on those select '05s with some pliers and patience. A lot just go buy those new twist lock things from the dealer. They aren't expensive at all.
Other than that, yes, those just plug right in. You are replacing 168/194 bulbs. Just for the cluster, you need 5 if it's a non-tach cluster and 6 if it's a tach cluster.
This is a picture of LSP's car with the cool white WLED-x5 bulbs in it:

I can't ever get a picture of mine to come out correctly, color-wise.

Lol wow that looks sick lol and I have a 2005 sxt. So if I can get the twist locks off will the bulb just come out? Or do I have to have new ones no matter what? And for say the hvac controls and shifter is that the twist locks also? Sorry I haven't gotten it that pulled apart yet lol

No, the twist locks come out either way. How else would you replace the bulb? It's just what holds the bulb in place. The bulbs may or may not come out just by pulling on yours, being a 2005. Some will and some won't. If they don't, your best bet is to go buy new ones.
HVAC controls require a neo-wedge bulb. Size depends where you buy them from and what LED it is. Shifter, glove box (if you have one) and license plate light are just a straight bulb change; the bulb sits in a socket. Some dome lights have a regular bulb and others have a festoon. There are three different dome bulbs that I know of. Why three for the same thing? No idea. To change the mileage requires a translucent film. The downside to adding a film to the mileage is it makes it difficult to see during the day. As you can see in the picture, it's fairly dark even at night.
