Default ASAP Help With IAC!

I am in the middle of swapping out my old Idle Air Controller with a new one, to fix some issues I was having. But after putting the new one in, I fired up the car.

It revved pretty high, then when it went into idle mode, it kept going chugga chugga. Rev-stop-rev-stop-rev-stop.

I pulled it BACK out, and compared it to the old one. I bought the new IAC at Advanced Autoparts....

New one is on the left. Notice the difference in length?

So my question is... WHAT do I do now? This was the IAC they said was for the 2000 dodge neon. They even had to order it.

Ok I just pushed on the top of the old one, and now they are the same length... apparently it was extended or something.

So is it normal after putting in a new IAC for the car to act really weird? Will it adjust to the new valve?

Ok, someone can delete this thread.

After running it for a bit ( I ran errands) everything is working fine.
