In case anyone's following, I plugged in another PCM and the car started right up. I'm more than a little peeved Chrysler would have identical sensor plugs within reach of each other like this and that a simple mix-up could cause damage to this extent.

Since the car has the SENTRY system, although it started, she shut down 3 seconds later. I've got to mail the PCM out to a programmer in FL now to get it to work for good to the tune of $125 =(

A dealership should be able to do it for less than $125...

I checked with 2 of 'em locally here and both said I'd be charged at least 1 hour of shop time ($100) to make the attempt and made no promises they could get it to work within that period. If I authorized it, they'd continue working additional hours, with again no promises.

Sending out the PCM for $125 seemed like a bargain after hearing that come-on.

I guess if the dealer is that incapable of reprogramming the VIN into a computer, yeah, I suppose so. I find it amazing that dealers for any brand car don't know if they can do ____ repair since they are the only ones that are "supposed" to be able to do it.
