Default A/C Recharged Today

As I was charging the a/c I noticed that a white smoke was coming from in front of the radiator The a/c got a little cold but nothing how it should be. Could this be the condenser leaking? I charged it once last summer and did not notice that smoke coming out. Is it worth changing the condenser only to find its also something else after I reinstall it. Ant of you guys familiar with this I would appreciate your help. I added 2 cans, do not want to add any more than that.

Were you measuring how much you were putting in with a gauge? That just makes it sound like you weren't.

u have a leak, most likely taken a stone through the condensor.
U woulda smelt that stuff (quite toxic too)

Is it worth it? only you can answer that
many people do live without A/C, who knows where you live

other than the condenser at the radiator is there a evaporating coil also? where is that located? and do they go bad also. I live in NJ it was 102 degrees today. When I said is it worth it I meant to replace the condenser only or should I replace more than just that. I don't know if anything else is bad.

i would expect that if you had a leak in that location the AC would not work at all cause the freon would just all leak out , thats a big leak as described. if you are unsure just have someone check it out , you need to have it leak checked by a qualified tech , fixed , then put under a deep vac to get all the moisture out then recharged , those bottles people buy are just bandaids .

the evap is in the heater box under the dash, this shouldnt need replacement,
you need to fix the leak, and perhaps change the dryer.
then suction the system down and recharge it.

If you don't fully know how the system works then I would stop working on it right now before you get yourself hurt or release any more refrigerant into the air.

This is exactly why I won't work on A/C or airbag systems.

I need to get mines serviced. Especially now since my wife and I had our first child. Right now I won't have our baby girl in my car when it's to hot also that gives me an excuse to drive alone and turn the bass up on my 12' subs. 

Amen.

It appears from your questions the quote applies directly.
