Wheel Bearing- left?
2000 neon a/t - front area humming/howling starts at 25MPH and continues through 60MPH. Swerve right, and it gets worse - left it gets better. Replaced Rt wheel bearing and cv shaft. No change. Rotated tires - no change. After reading some other posts, it appears like it may be the left wheel bearing (the noise gets worse when I swerve right), however, the left bearing does not feel 'loose' when I rock the tire up/down and side to side. Any other thoughts, ideas? Thanks!
when you swerve right(passenger side) you put all the weight and load on the drivers side.
Driver side wheel bearings fail at a faster rate than passenger sides as we make more right turns off freeways and such
even tho it doesnt feel loose it can still howl/growl like a ****
Replace drivers side wheel bearing and ull be golden

Been there, don that. Changed right bearing and it was actually the left one that was bad. Old mechanic once told me (and I did not listen) don't throw away the bearing you think is bad as it may be the one you really need.
