Default looking for what this is called and where to find it :)

2003 dodge neon 4 banger standard its the cable that comes from the shifter down to the tranny, it would seem to be missing the rubber grommet and lock pin that holds it on. Its located below the battery and its loose which is causing the car not to shift :/ need to know where I can find it online and order it asap thanks for any help or advice...trying to upload a pic here soon

Have you tried to use a cotter pin to hold the cable in place? I would think that it is called shift cable? Try looking in the 'help' section at auto parts store.

Default that wouldnt work

it needs to have a rubber circle with thats 3/4 long and 1/4 in hole in the milddle and about 1/2 in high with an "E" clip to hold it in place. I tried riggin it so it would work with some stuff but it just wont do. I called the dealership and they only sell the entire cable which costs 200 bucks. And all the junkyards around me all have automatics. all i need is something thatll cost like 5 bucks to fix it lmao somebody has to have had this issue before

go to lowes and get some rubber washers(or some rubber hose) from the plumbing section and some e-clips from autozone. I'm sure you can rig something up and then have spares for the next time it goes out.

Default gonna try this

im gonna get some fuel lines /coolant line from a quarter in to 3/4 in and work it up and stuff one inside of the other so its nice and snug and cut it to where it needs to be height wise then add a metal washer then a Eclip to hold it all down...Im hoping this will work

Yeah, I was going to say find a bushing kit. Look for "Booger" brand bushings though; they are the best for the Neon.
