Default Is my rear wheel bearing going out?

Hearing an odd sound from the rightside of my car when driving at speed. Sure sounds like a wheel bearing. How can I tell for sure? I also noticed a little bit of grease in little hair like whisps on the right side of my car at times.

If it is the wheel bearing, how do I go about replacing it if it's the rear ones?

If you have to replace it. Remove wheel, brake drum, grease cap, large 30 something mm nut, remove hub assembly. I'm not sure what all you get when you order a new hub so replace what you get and put it all back together. All in all pretty easy job.

Its pretty easy like leprechaun said, the hardest part will probably getting the brake drum off if it hasnt been removed/replaced before or in a while. I just changed one of my hub assemblys a week ago and it took a can of WD-40 and a lot of hammering, it was rusted on pretty bad.

Forget WD-40; it's not a penetrating spray. Get PB Blaster

So do I need a whole complete hub assembly or can I just purchase bearings?

PB Blaster would probably work better...lol

You could just get the bearings but there wont be much of a price difference. The hub assembly was $45 at autozone.
