Adjustable cam gear NA sohc 2.0
So this car I got has 110K on it, no clue if belt was changed but suggested interval is 105K and it sure doesn't look like it has 5K on it so I'm doing it.
I had planned on tossing on an unorthodox under drive pulley on but for the time being all mods must be on a budget, I figure if it's worth it do the adjustable cam gear now while in there since the under drive pulley can be done without timing belt removal it can be done whenever.........
I might as well go into to detail what future plans are as that may be a factor for advice.
I have a deposit on a 2.0 HO, plan on sending heads and intake out for port/polish and then installing them with a 0014 crane cam and valve springs on my current 2.0 for the time being while I do bottom end work on the HO over the winter.
Exhaust will most likely be headers to 2.5" with cat delete, muffler not quite sure but leaning towards a 40 or 50 series race application flowmaster.
Long term goals are to blow a 50-75 shot into the rebuilt lower end HO engine.
If it's worth it and what would be the suggested timing degree to start with.
I hear -3 is a good place to start on srt4's but dual overhead cams and 2.4L turbo surely are quite a bit different.
Anyway figured I'd lean a little on the guys that have been there and done that for some advice on this.
