LEV Catalytic Converter 02 Neon R/T (PIC)
Hello,
I need to replace my cat. Turns out I have a low emissions vehicle cat. Im having some trouble finding good aftermarket alternatives due to it being an LEV cat. Does anyone know of a reasonably priced direct fit cat, or, if I have to, a cut-in type? The cat I have has an O2 sensor just behind the flex joint and another in the middle of the cat. The OEM part number is 645A-1347. See the picture.
Thanks,
Durty

LEV probably means you need a CA-approved cat. Something like this:http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/de...QM6646268.html
Here's the same one, but cheaper: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ag=invihand-20
The last one on this page says it will work too, but it's only $73:http://www.thepartsbin.com/guides/dodge/neon/catalytic_converter.html and then cheaper too: http://www.partsgeek.com/gbproducts/...se&fp=pp&gbm=a
Basically, Google is your friend. Search

Interesting...looking at Magnaflow's site, it seems the 46268 49-state cat is to exclude the LEV/ULEV vehicles: http://www.magnaflow.com/02catalytic...irectfit=46268
However, under 50-state cats (I was going to say earlier it's probably an expensive CARB approved cat), it has the same part number and it is approved for LEV/ULEV cars: http://www.magnaflow.com/02catalytic...irectfit=46268
I'd just call Magnaflow and ask for clarification/confirmation, and if it is the correct one, pick it up off of Amazon. Perhaps see if a local exhaust shop has that part in stock that you could take a look at?
The low-emission Neons are not common. Best of luck in the hunt to find someone that has the personal experience with 'em!
