Default neon accident HELP

My daughter was in an accident in her 2003 dodge neon. After the accident the officer told her to shut the car off. The car was towed and now it will not start. I've heard of newer vehicles having a shut off switch and I've been told that only Ford has this feature. Is there any one out here that KNOWS if this car has one and if so where it may be found, so I can reset it and get the car back on the road.

Welcome Aboard livin4wife! Stay tuned - a Technician (or member) will jump in shortly to provide a possible solution. In the meantime, don't forget to browse Sub-Forums: Neon for stuff related to your ride.

The Neon does not have that system AFAIK. In the Ford's, the inertia switch as it's called will automatically shut the fuel pump(s) off in an accident; it doesn't wait for you to turn your car off. Does the car still turn over?

Are you using the original factory key or the valet key? After my wife wrecked her neon the valet key would not work any more

Perhaps the ASD (Auto Shutdown) relay tripped? Have you checked that? It gives or takes power to or from most everything the car needs to run.

Is there a way to check the relay or should I just buy another relay.

You can switch the ADS and fuel pump relay (assuming the fuel pump relay is good).
