If you disconnected the battery and the car hasn't run yet, you won't have any codes because nothing has been able to monitored for a fault. Does the battery have a full charge?

Have you checked the fuel pressure going into the engine? Had the same problem with my 97 ram rebuilt the motor wouldn't start checked the fuel pressure and found the problem was a rusted ground on the pump.

He doesn't have a code. The dealership is simply telling him that may be the problem. Wouldn't hurt to check though.

sounds alot like my problem after i accidently knocked a piece of plastic into the timing and it skipped a few teeth... i still havent gotten that thing started and im inches from junking it. the timing was redone by me according the the FSM. is it possible for the crank or cam to be 1 turn off from where it should be ? like maybe the valvles are working backwards from how they should idk.

*edit* Also before i got the new timing belt it was done professionally by pat and reds for a rediculous price about 40k miles ago. so i only got the belt, not the tensioner since its the mechanical one. thnx for any future help im not on the computer much anymore
