ebrake auto engage?

Default ebrake auto engage?

so my car use to never do this before. Here in the last month or so if you get on the gas at all the brake light comes on? why? its a 05 auto sxt. Just wonderin bc its never done this before now.

Sounds like something weird is going on with the switch on the pedal. There is a testing procedure in the shop manual in my signature.

mine just did that its an 04, the fluid was low. then it went low again so I traced it back to a bad wheel cylinder..

Don't know why I didn't think of that at all

That's a very common cause for the light to come on.

yea i went to change the rear shoes and i noticed the cylinder has oil on the bushing...is that what would be it

Probably. There shouldn't be any fluids in that area.

how do i go about changing the cylinders or are they a pain in the ***?

Disassemble the brakes undo the brake line to the cylinder and undo the one bolt. R&R. Done.

it is easy, I cheated and only removed the center springs to let the shoes move on the backing plate then it was 5 minutes and the wife was sitting in the car pumping the brake peddal to remove the air. I like the old saying work smarter not harder, plus I hate changing shoes they for what ever reason scare me pads are easy calipers are so simple.
