How to 2004 LSD swap a 2gn neon?
I've been reading around for about a half and hour now. I see yes and I see no. How the intermediate shaft bolts up seems to be the topic of debate. All these people that do these swaps never report back with a definitive yes or no.
Now that i think about it it can only attach to a bracket on the engine, if it was attached to subframe it would bind when you torqued out engine due to the type of engine and trans mounts they use.
If attached to engine trans and engine torque together which makes alot more sense and would not bind.
Very possible the bracket will bolt up though, we have a support bracket that goes to outer edge of trans on passenger side that interferes with the swap plus a couple other holes for exhaust manifold support brackets.

So far its racking up money wise.
All confirmed for swap
Starter for 2.4 turbo.
Shim plate for T850 to engine
Flywheel for 2.4 turbo
Clutch for 2.4 turbo
2 axles
Intermediate shaft
New clutch pivot fork
new clutch pivot ball
New slave cylinder
Cost wise unless I can find one of those cash/carry places with an srt-4 it's not for the "thrifty"
Yah I was reading through a thread on the t-350 and even an engineer from NPG ( new process gear ) was suprised they were handling the torque people were putting to them and basically said not much can be done to beef them up.
This is the best fix in the long haul reliability wise.
