so... from what i'm seeing on here (several oil pressure sensor threads lately),and since my car has 70k mi, and since it's only a $13 part, would y'all suggest I go ahead and get one of these sensors, just to have on hand when it does go out?

Default 2000 Plymouth Neon Oil Pressure Sensor

I also had an issue w the oil light comin on and going off when I drive. So far I replaced the oil pressure sensor and that cleared it up. First thing I did was check the oil level and drain plug and filter as I took it in for an oil change. I prefer to do my own oil changes but it was cold and the oil change was very cheap. But ya switching the sensor out worked for me. No knocks or anything like that in the engine. Good luck. Oh ya I got the sonsor at Napa for around $10.oo and bought a 1 1/16" deep socket to reomve and replace it. I also use the YELLOW tephlon tape on the threads.
I had to replace this sensor on my Jeep Cherokee once as well.
Good luck to whoever this helps.

Default clip

I finally replaced this pressure sensor. The hardest part was was getting the clip off the sensor. The red clip was busted off at the end where you supposed to push it in. I just gave up and used a chinese hand saw to cut away the clip from the top of the red clip. I was careful not to cut the red clip and cut just enough to get it free. I could replace the connector that I cut away but it seems to hold well enough so I'm going to leave it.
