03 SXT I notice water under the car after my daughter parks in driveway. Problem is it is not always there. Since I seen it the first time I make an effort to look under the car. Today I looked in the morning and did not see anything. The car was not used and by the afternoon the small puddle was there again. Its kind of clear liquid but it feels a little oily. Its not motor oil. Is it common for the water pump to leak when the car is not being used? and only at certain times ?

I dont want to take everything apart if I dont need too as you know its a big job. Can someone please fill me in on the signs of a bad pump. The car is not overheating and there are no strange noises from the engine. Car rides pretty good except for low idle in gear. thanks for all the help.

 

Clear, and oily, is not coolant. Sounds more like clean(er) brake fluid.
